Le Festival du film de Rome a dévoilé sa programmation officielle pour l’édition 2019, qui se déroulera à l’auditorium Parco della Musica, entre autres lieux de la ville. Parmi les titres populaires de la programmation, on peut citer «The Farewell», le troisième long métrage de Trey Edward Shults, «Waves», du groupe STREY de Lorene Scafaria, «Hustlers» et l’adaptation cinématographique de «Downton Abbey».
Avant le début du festival, la première mondiale de John Turturro dans « The Big Lebowski », « The Jesus Rolls », aura sa première mondiale le 16 octobre. « Motherless Brooklyn » d’Edward Norton ouvrira le festival, incentive à Rome avec « The Irishman » de Martin Scorsese comme élément central. Les prix d’excellence pour l’ensemble des réalisations seront remis à Bill Murray et Viola Davis.
